gallery update

Nothing major to declare… but due to uncomfortably long page load times (which meant that certain things didn’t work as intended) I decided to start a new album of photos from Ikaria. Old album thus ends with 88 photos inside and the new one opens with 14 from another drive around Ikaria in a rented Suzuki Jimny last weekend.

I’ll write more about the climb down and up Schiza and some other things some other day… wow, there’s a lot of repeating going on in that sentence…

Schiza climb

You amaze me. I have a lot of questions to ask you about this. But for the time being there is a message for you in ‘hiking Ikaria’ group. It’s good news.

Great photos of Ikaria and Samos. For some reason I especially liked the one of Megalo Rema river – really makes me want to get up close. (Shame you can’t comment on pictures like you can on Flickr.)

Independent producers like Jernej are very important. I also regret that I can’t comment on each photo and yet I understand. There is a limit to social networking. Comments create an obligation to reply somehow and some poeple have the right not to get into this game. This is more or less the reason I stopped at ‘Ikaria 332’ in Flickr. I can’t afford drawing public attention on me and my photos. I feel obliged. And when I feel obliged and can’t respond adequately, I am depressed.

Yet, I am going to announce Jernej’s photo gallery in Flickr group Ikaria. I will also announce some Picasaweb galleries that are obvioulsy related. All of these pictures must be viewed and admired by as many people as possible. They are great picures. They make you dream. They make stories. They also do a lot of good to my island.

This is an independent production. Sometimes it’s good to lay back read and watch w/o commenting.

The blog doesn’t let me leave a comment. I understand. Bye.

I have no idea how your comments got stuck in the spam folder but I’ll try to fix it as soon as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience.

It’s ok, Jernej. Don’t worry. I am used to being blocked as a spammer when I dare cite the URL of my blog. Good luck with everything that you do.
