Firefox 2.0.0.8 CSS bug

A few days ago I discovered one of my websites is broken when viewed using Firefox 2.0.0.8 (latest version at this moment). I haven’t had the time to figure out why it happened but I did check with other browsers and versions and 0.8 seems to be the only release affected.

I noticed Quirksmode linked to a post on F-LOG-GE describing the issue and it seems a bug made its way into this release that fumbles floats with negative margins.

As I was writing this I found a post on Mozilla Developer News that mentions the problem. They’re promising a fix in the new 2.0.0.9 release due out soon and provide a workaround if your site is affected..

Let’s hope most people use autoupdate and I don’t have to do anything ;)

Smashing Mag freebies

As part of their one year anniversary celebrations the team behind Smashing Magazine decided to give away some free stuff. Free as in: free font Anivers by Jos Buivenga (he has more free fontin’ goodness on his site), free WordPress theme by Elena Gafita, free (if you win) books and free (if you win) design tools.

BTW Anivers supports CE languages (yea!) so go grab it while it’s hot.
