The death of Helvetica

As a followup to his Open letter to John Warnock (of Adobe) Andrei Herasimchuk laments the death of Helvetica as it appears to be destined to fade into oblivion.
In The unfortunate death of Helvetica he explains what happened since he wrote the letter and why he thinks Helvetica is effectively doomed.
