Bending the Rules

Divernet has a great article on bending the rules when you know it makes perfect sense

But people differ. While there are those whose mentality dictates that anything but slavish following of a predetermined plan would spell disaster, there are others who never waste time practising for anything. Their activities are joyfully chaotic and may sometimes be thought dangerous.

Oh, no! Don’t do it!!! You will die the moment you touch 41m!! If nothing else your 40m rated camera will catastrophically implode.

The sad thing is… some people actually believe this.

Yes, there are “idiots” that go down to 70-80-90-100? meters on air yet they still survive and there are others that say goodbye to the world in 5m of water under their boat by following every possible rule there is.

Think with your own head and make your own decisions. Diving is about fun and enjoyment not about following the rules.

Video Music Awards

I don’t know if she was a nominee this year (probably not since it’s a recent video) but in my opinion there might as well be just one winner for (nearly) all the categories.

The Video of the Year – La tortura by Shakira… no contest really

I have nothing but respect for the people behind the cameras. It’s a proper torture innit?

Google Sightseeing

If you’re ever bored at work or you just love dreaming about places you’d wanna see then  Google Maps is definitely a great place to spend hours and hours pouring over satelite imagery.
MSN Virtual Earth is nowhere near as detailed outside the US but it does have a fun feature – it recognizes the last location you’ve been looking at.

Someone even made a side by side comparison of the two

A shortcut to steal your precious few minutes is  Google Sightseeing. A blog with a daily collection of interesting places as seen from a satellite.
