Grid Systems part IV

Making our RSS look good

Sooooo… we did it! There was some outside help but we (or rather I) did it nevertheless.

Have a peek and see what the fuss is about.

I wrote a proper introduction to RSS (tell me if there’s anything I should fix?!) but the real deal was figuring out how to make the first five entries display normally AND have only a clickable headline for the rest of them.

The solution was so simple it would be impossible for me to figure it out on my own

This is it, in all its simplicity (just replace ( ) where needed):

(xsl:choose)
(xsl:when test=”position() <= 5")
(!– something for the first 5 –)
(/xsl:when)
(xsl:otherwise)
(!– something for the rest –)
(/xsl:otherwise)
(/xsl:choose)
