Calm before the storm
Monday was a day when I needed to clear my head of a few unpleasant thoughts and I knew early morning was my last chance before it started to rain (who imagined it would be this bad?!).
I woke up early, somehow managed to convince Dina to jump in the car and we drove towards Mojstrana not really knowing what kind of weather we’ll see once the sun came up. As we drove up towards Aljažev dom it was obvious it would be grey & overcast with occasional hints of sun rising behind the Wall.
I wanted to try the route towards Pogačnikov dom through Sovatna as it’s pretty much guaranteed you’ll see some wildlife and we did (see photo above). We got to within 10-15m away from these goats (ibex I think they’re called) as they were just lying around on the trail. They hardly bothered to get up and slowly moved away. Once through the pass we then stumbled onto a small herd of chamoix and in the hut I walked into the kitchen just as the girls were finishing a chocolate cake. It smelled delicious! I didn’t get any though, I had to make due with some tea, a smile (did I mention it came with a cute face?) ;) and an invitation to come back for the end of season party in a few weeks.
btw… Although the trail description says you’ll be walking up for 4-5h it’s perfectly doable in 2:30 or less.

ÄŒudovit blog in super fotke, čestitam!
Zanima me kakšna je pot čez sovatno s psom (labradorec).
