U.S. patent to cover rich-media

Some rather insane bureaucrat in the US apparently granted an  umbrella patent that covers rich-media applications when they are accessed over the internet. Among the things that might be affected is also use of AJAX, Java, Flash… in specific ways.

Although the abstract suggests this might be very damaging to the entire industry it is not that serious once you look into the specific claims which basically cover the way  Pro:FX (patent holders product) is used.

It’s still a stupid patent…
