Optimizing for iPh***

Comments(0) I despise everything Apple, mostly because people, for no apparent reason, tend to turn into sheep at mere mention of white rounded boxes and partly because everytime I find myself around one of their products it tends to die on me. No BSOD or some fancy effect like that either. They just die, freeze or give me some other signal I’m dealing with clearly malfunctioning equipment.
There are two things I do appreciate however:
- They provide very useful guidelines for Optimizing Web Applications and Content for iPhone By all means follow them for other similar handheld devices
- They were among the first to support H.264 (otherwise known as MPEG4 part 10). Incidentally, H.264 will be the standard used for slovenian digital terrestrial broadcasting (DVB-T), among other aplications. I wonder if they’ll ever adopt Dirac…
